Private Flute Instruction
Are you looking for private flute lessons for your musician? Melinda Carpenter has a bachelor’s degree in Music Education, and has taught kindergarten through 12th grade students for 10 years. The Antioch Branch of the Mid-Continent Public Library is offering programs that students and their families might find interesting for the start of a new school year.

KC Wolf presents Read to Succeed
On the half-day early release on Friday, Sept. 3 students and their families can meet KC Wolf up close and personal. The program begins at 2 p.m. and don’t forget your camera!

Plastic Model Make & Take
Sept. 11 from noon to 3 p.m.
Join the International Plastic Modelers Society for a show, and make and take activity. This organization is dedicated to the fun of scale modeling. Bring the kids and let them make a model to take home.

Home Alone
Sept. 16 at 7 p.m.
Join Gladstone Public Safety as they provide you and your child valuable information to prepare your family for the next step toward independence… staying home alone.

15th Annual Gladstone HyVee Scarecrow 5K Run/Walk
The 15th Annual Gladstone Scarecrow 5K Run/Walk, sponsored by Gladstone Parks & Recreation, Gladstone Hy-Vee and Gladstone Rotary Club will take place on Oct. 3, the last day of Gladfest. All participants will receive a T-shirt and complimentary post-race breakfast.

The fee for this event is $18 before September 24. Cost is $22 after September 24, and on the day of the event. A family rate is available with the first participant paying the full rate and each additional family member paying $12.

All proceeds from this event will be donated to the Northland Christmas Store.

Registration Begins: Monday, August 16
Registration Deadline: Friday, September 24
