Carnival Cruise Line was founded in 1972 and has been known around the world as the cruise line that knows how to party. Carnival Cruise ships are very distinguishable in any port of call, all Carnival vessels boast a whopping whale tale drenched in the company’s colors: red, blue, and white (This whale tail was first piloted on the Tropicale back in 1981). (These specialty restaurants require reservations, which can be made onboard, and do require an additional monetary contribution).
Carnival has had some great accomplishments over the past couple years. In 1996, Carnival was the first cruise line to issue a cruise ship into service that weighed over 100,000 gross tons. Her name is, Carnival Destiny, and she currently sails from Miami, Florida all year round to the Caribbean. In 1998, the Carnival Elation was the first cruise ship to ever come equipped with an azipod propulsion system (This system allows cruise ships to have more maneuverability).
