Despite cold winds and rain that made for a very muddy marching field, the North Kansas City High School Marching Hornets scored big at the 41st Annual Carrollton Band Competition on Saturday, Sept. 25. The band entered three competitions and came home with four trophies that included the following:
Class 5A Field - 1ST PLACE TROPHY
Northtown's band improved their overall score by jumping up 20 points from last year's score to hit 100.1 points. Of the 68 bands competing in the Carrollton Band competition, Northtown's band was the 3rd highest scoring band of the day.
BEST FIELD AUXILIARY - Class 5A TROPHY
Indoor Guard - 2nd Place TROPHY
Indoor Drumline - 3rd place TROPHY
The North Kansas City Marching Hornets are under the direction of band leader Carrie Epperson. For more information about the band and the Carrollton event, contact her at cepperso@nkcsd.k12.mo.us or phone (816) 413-5900.
