Rain Barrel Workshop
Help the environment by making your own rain barrel. These 55-gallon barrels attach to the downspout of your home, catching runoff water from your roof and storing the water until you need it for your garden. This saves you money and the rainwater is wonderful for your plants. Come to a workshop April 16 at 9:30 a.m. at Oak Grove Park’s Amphitheatre to learn more about the benefits of rainwater and make your own barrel. No tools are necessary and the cost of the rain barrel kit is included in the registration fee.
Registration is Feb. 28 through April 8. Cost is $65. Registration will be accepted in person at the Gladstone Parks and Recreation office in City Hall or by phone with a credit card. Call Gladstone Parks and Recreation at (816) 423-4091.

Northland Rotational Softball Association Registration
This is your special invitation to play Rotational Softball in 2011 – and you can even bring a friend to play with you on the same team! Northland Rotational Softball is a coed youth recreational softball league for players from three years old through seniors in high school. Rules in the elementary and youth divisions are structured so that players “rotate” through each of the defensive positions during the game. On offense all players present take their turn at the plate. With this approach, no player is a substitute. The program’s motto is “Winning is the result, not the aim.” For more information, visit www.eteamz.com/nrsa.
