Chievo head into this weekend's encounter with Milan 12th in the league table with 31 points from 25 matches. With nine points separating them and the relegation zone and a ten-point gulf between them and a European place, Stefano Pioli's side are indeed placed as an also-ran this season.
With a three-point advantage over second-place Napoli, Milan will now have to turn their focus back on the league and continue their stride towards their first Scudetto since 2004. Winning in Verona against Chievo will not be easy but Milan do have a formidable record on the road this season, having lost just one away league fixture. The Diavolo have conceded just a miserly nine goals in 12 matches away from San Siro.
