System of a Down

American band, wchich members come from Armenia. Group plays alternative metal. All started in Los Angeles, where in studio Rehearsal, Serj Tankian met young gitarist Daron Malakian. Men were playing in diffrent bands, but when they found out how many connects
them, they started to play together. Together with Ontronik "Andy" Khachaturian they made the band called 'Soil'. It was only a few months project. In 1995 came changes, wchich made the creation of a band we know today. A friend of a band, Shavarsh "Shavo" Odadjian changed the bass. Present name of group was created from poem 'Victims of a Down', written by Malakian. After Andy's contusion John Dolmayan changed changed Khachaturian on percussion. Start of System of a Down carrier started in 1997, when on concert in Viper Room in Hollywood saw them producent and boss of American Records, Rick Rubin, wchich liked the style of a band. Songs lyrics of the band speak of many worlds problems.
