As the district’s 21 elementary schools prepare for kindergarten enrollment, many have scheduled informative parent meetings called “roundups” prior to kindergarten enrollment and planned for health screenings that usually begin in April and May. Area students enrolling at district elementary schools for 2010-11 kindergarten classes must be five years old before August 1, 2010.
Kindergarten meetings offer parents an early opportunity to visit with school staff, tour the building, and to begin the process of filling out enrollment paperwork and signing up for health screenings performed later in the spring. However, for those new to the district or for those who may have missed an initial kindergarten meeting, an appointment may be scheduled anytime by simply phoning the school.
