Costa Cruise Line is owned by the Carnival Corporation, and so the Costa Magica closely resembles the Carnival Cruise Line's Destiny and Triumph class vessels. Even though the two lines share similar classes of vessels, the interior designs on board each come from two completely different angles.
The ship has some of the best art work incorporated within her interior design, and the color coordination is just perfect, nothing on board is too overwhelming. Costa Magica has done many voyages to Bermuda, the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, South America, and the Caribbean. Costa Cruise Line definitely keeps this ship exploring new and different ports of call every year, for it is truly a customer favorite, including with me.
The teen program on board is outstanding, and the atmosphere on board from the deck parties, to the shows, to the fine dining truly wisp you away and give you the feeling that you are in Italy, just for a moment. Costa does offer all year round service to Europe, but only sends ships to the United States seasonally (November - April). Costa Magica has made her appearance, in years past in U.S. waters, but lately has been routed to explore other destinations around the world.
Costa does follow suit with their parent company [Carnival Cruise Line], and provides a high energy and spirited atmosphere, but with an Italian flare. The crew is vivacious and engaging with all guests on board. The food is completely out of this world, and the eclectic taste that can be consumed will be enough to keep you on the Lido deck for the entirety of your cruise.
The only down part is, since the cruise line attracts passengers from all around the world, when announcements are made, they are done in multiple languages. The passengers on board any Costa Cruise Line ship come from all over the world, so they do the announcements in an array of languages to accommodate all that are sailing on the ship. Even though, after hearing the same announcement in up to five different languages can get annoying by the third or fourth night of a seven night cruise on the ship.
Overall, Costa Magica is a wonderful ship, as are all of the Costa Cruise Ships. On a scale of 5.0 stars, I give the Costa Magica a 4.0. Book a Costa Cruise today and experience the Italian Charm many want to know experience at sea. Cruising Italian style with, Costa Cruise Line, now that’s amore!
