'From the compilers of the acclaimed Andergraun Vibrations series, comes Pentecostes Vibrations, an incredible comp featuring some of the rarest and unknown Spanish Xian recordings from the '60s/'70s. While searching for rare records to be included in the Andergraun volumes, the Hundergrum diggers found some recordings that were too Xian to be included on that series, so the idea of Pentecostes Vibrations was born. It features Xian bands or groups that recorded for Christian/religious labels. Let's not forget that Spain during the '60s and '70s was under the Catholic fascist regime of Franco, so pop music was inevitably affected by religion. But you won't find any lightweight Christian singers here. Just garage, beat and psych sounds. They've rescued records from old religious libraries, flea-markets, born-again-Christian boot sales and private collections. All tracks are taken from original 45s and LPs, including some unknown private pressings and ultra-obscure 45s with only a handful of copies known among collectors. nuttin much to add. heady & languid xian psych folk from spain with some sweet harmonies, echoic plate-reverb passages & a few mid-paced rawkin numbaz. a definite grower & perfect for that sunday morning coming down set. dios mio
