Local Schools Participate in Holiday Concert Series
Let a little music put you in the holiday spirit this month! The Gladstone Community Center, in partnership with North Kansas City Schools, is hosting an open house holiday concert series in December featuring music groups from area schools.

Mark your calendars for Dec. 7, Dec. 15, and Dec. 20, for each of these free concerts at the Gladstone Community Center, 6901 N. Holmes. Festivities begin at 6:30 p.m. with light refreshments sponsored by Gladstone Hy-Vee.


Holiday Hoops Basketball Clinic
Keep your young athlete busy this holiday season and sign them up to participate in Gladstone Community Center’s Holiday Hoops Basketball Clinic. The clinic is scheduled for Dec. 22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for boys and girls in grades 1-4. Students in grades 5-8 can enjoy the clinic on Dec. 23. This one-day camp will focus on fundamentals of the game. Dribbling, passing, and shooting will be taught in the morning. The afternoon will enhance defensive skills with a culminating activity of playing games. Free Throw Championship
All boys and girls ages 10-14 as of January 1, 2011, are invited to participate in the 2011 Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship. The local level of competition is sponsored by Council 3414 and will be held at St. Pius X High School on Jan. 9 beginning at 6 p.m. Each child may enter only one of the local council competitions.
