Northtown’s Taylor Parker Wins Gold at State STAR Event for FCCLA

Taylor Parker, a junior at North Kansas City High School, has won Gold at the Missouri STAR Events competition for FCCLA - Family, Career and Community Leaders of America.

Parker competed in the Recycle & Redesign event and now will represent the state of Missouri at the National FCCLA Leadership Conference and STAR Events competition July 4-8, 2010, in Chicago.

Using three items typically found in a home for his ensemble, Parker was able to pull together an outfit using pages from a telephone book, a net bath sponge and trash can liners.
