On Tuesday, March 30, the Leadership Institute of North Kansas City Schools graduated 10 candidates in its 11th annual class. The decade-old institute is an internship program that provides teachers with an opportunity to experience best practices, gain insight into administrative procedures and processes, and to develop leadership skills necessary for a successful career in school administration. Award presentations were made at the R. B. Doolin Center.
Graduation is a culmination event for the internship program during which the winner of the Dr. Vicki L. Baker Leadership Institute Award is announced. Recipient of the Baker award this year is PJ McGinnis from Crestview Elementary. It is the 7th year for the Dr. Vicki L. Baker Leadership Institute Award that was established to honor Baker, a former associate superintendent of educational services, for her many leadership contributions and years of inspiration to administrators.
