Free Leadership Workshop Offered for 7-8th Grade Girls
“I am…a Leader” is a unique, interactive FREE leadership workshop for 7th and 8th grade girls. Participants will have the opportunity to learn and develop their skills around specific themes including: leadership basics, empathy and integrity, conflict resolution, networking, and goals and decision-making.

The event consists of three breakout sessions, a networking activity, snacks and take-home materials for participants to continue practicing leadership development in their daily lives. Each participant will discover tools and insights aimed at fostering improved self-esteem, empowering better leaders, encouraging supportive relationships and achieving dreams.

March is National Craft month! Celebrate your creativity and make art with our leftovers! We provide the junk, you create a masterpiece. (All ages) Registration is required.

Creative Cardboard Art
Have you ever seen cardboard art? Join us to see the amazing creations of a local Gladstone artist. Learn how he makes these cars, trucks and carousels, and try your hand at creating something yourself. This is a presentation not to be missed! (Ages 5 and up) Registration is required.

Wednesday, March 16

Chamber Music: From Classical to Bluegrass
This family band offers a look at the variety of music that children can learn and perform from early ages. Chamber Music consists of five children, ranging in age from 10 to 21, plus mom. They've delighted folks over the last decade in nursing homes, schools, at fairs and festivals and private gatherings. Come ready to hear: Orange Blossom Special; Jerusalem's Ridge; Air; Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring; Courted a Sailor and Wildwood Flower. Be ready for some Beach Boys! (All ages) Registration is required.

Thursday, March 17
2 p.m.

Dangerous and Daring Program for Boys and Girls
We will have activities based on the "Daring" and "Dangerous" books. Join us for some good old fashioned fun. (Ages 7 and up) Registration is required.

Friday, March 18
10 a.m.

Stable T. Farms Petting Zoo
Bring Mom, Dad, Grandma and Grandpa! Bring the whole family to see these farm animals, pet rabbits, goats and more. If you can't go to the farm, let the farm come to you. Presented by Stable T. Farms. (All ages) Registration is required.


Brooktree Barracudas Swim Team Registration
Interested in joining a summer swim team? Consider joining the Brooktree Barracudas! The team competes in the Northland Conference for an 8-week season that begins May 31 and ends in mid-July. Meets are held Thursday nights with a conference meet at the end of the season.

The swim team includes the following age groups for boys and girls:
  • Mini-Cudas (age 5+) work on mastering strokes and preparing for competition.
  • 8 and under
  • 9 -10
  • 11-12
  • 13-14
  • 15-18
Registration will be held at Northland Neighborhoods, Inc. at 3015 NE Vivion Road on March 24 from 4-7 p.m. For more information, contact Radonna Barkema at radonna@kc.rr.com.
