Four File for Three Seats on NKC Schools Board of Education

Two candidates, Joe Jacobs and Tammy Henderson, filed for the two open seats that are three-year terms. Both Jacobs and Henderson are former school board members and both presently serve on the school board in appointed positions. Since Jacobs and Henderson are unopposed, their names most likely will not be placed on the ballot.

The third vacancy is for a single, one-year term, and it will appear on the ballot. Two candidates filed for this slot created by the resignation of board member Chace Ramey last spring. The candidates are Jane Brown, a former school board member who is an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, and Dixie Youngers, a parent and volunteer who has previously run for school board.

Voters will decide which of these two will serve on the school board in the April 5, 2011, election.
