Oak Park High School senior Derek Byrne was recently published in an issue of "Idea File" magazine, published by Walsworth Publishing Company for yearbook teachers nationwide. His article, "Make the most of conventions," was printed in the "Editor-in-Chief Corner" column of the magazine, as well as online.
The article discusses the importance of attending national conventions and competitions, not only for individual students, but the yearbook staff and the yearbook as a published product as well.
Elizabeth Braden, editor of the "Idea File," wrote to him, saying, "I believe other editors will find all of your suggestions to be useful. As an editor, I am always impressed by excellent and speedy writing."
"Idea File" is published two times a year to provide yearbook advisers and staffs news, information and tips for producing yearbooks. It is available in print as well as the company website, www.walsworthyearbooks.com.
