On 9 November 2003 River Plate were beaten 0-2 on their own pitch by Boca Juniors. Boca were already 0-1 up when their Brazilian midfielder Pedro Iarley scored this brilliant goal.
Boca Juniors went on to win the Apertura 2003 championship, Iarley only played for one season in Argentine football but this goal in Argentina's most important derby alone gives him a place amongst the very few Brazilians to have found success in the Argentine league.
