R.I.P. Don Kirshner
Rock promoter Don Kirshner has died of heart failure in a Florida hospital at age 76. Time magazine once dubbed him the "Man With the Golden Ear". The Bronx-born Kirshner got his start during the late 50s with partner Al Nevins and their Aldon Music publishing company, whose roster of songwriters included the likes of Neil Diamond, Neil Sedaka, Bobby Darin, Carole King, and more. In the 1960s he married bubblegum to television with two manufactured, semifictitious bands: the Monkees and the cartoon Archies.
Many of you may remember him as the host of the TV show "Don Kirshner's Rock Concert" in 1970s which gave national exposure to musicians such as KISS, The Sex Pistols, The Ramones, The Police and many many others.

Dear Cruise Fans,
I just wanted to thank you for all of the cruising joy that you brought in 2010! I debuted into the online cruise realm in June 2010, and I am so thankful that you allowed me to join in with the cruising conversations as if I were here for decades!
I had a blast giving every #TravelTuesday and #FollowFriday shout out on Twitter, creating my own “cruise lingo” with some interactive cruise tweeps, and sharing my cruise videos with the masses via YouTube! Thanks for participating in my polls and for giving positive feedback and constructive criticism, I loved it all!
I will be sure to bring you greater cruise reviews, news and videos in 2011, so stay posted. I hope you have a safe and wonderful holiday, and be sure to keep cruising! See you on the high seas in the New Year!
Keep Cruising Y’all,
Cruise Man 3000
