Edge of Glory Official Lyrics

There ain't no reason you and me should be alone
Tonight, yeah baby
Tonight, yeah baby
I've got no reason that you should take me home tonight (tonight)

I need a man who thinks it right when it's so wrong,
Tonight, yeah baby
Tonight, yeah baby
Right on the limits where we know we both belong tonight (tonight)

It's time to feel the rush,
To push the dangerous
I'm gonna run back to, to the edge with you
Where we can both fall hard in love

I'm on The Edge of Glory,
and I'm hanging on a moment of truth,
Out on The Edge of Glory,
and I'm hanging on a moment with you,
I'm on the edge
The edge
The edge
The edge
The edge
The edge
The edge
I'm on The Edge of Glory
And I'm hanging on a moment with you
I'm on the edge with you

Another shot, before we kiss the other side,
Tonight, yeah baby
Tonight, yeah baby
I'm on the edge of something final we call life tonight
Alright, alright
Put on your shades 'cause I'll be dancing in the flames
Tonight, yeah baby
Tonight, yeah baby
It doesn't hurt if everybody knows my name tonight
Alright, alright

It's time to feel the rush
To push the dangerous
I'm gonna run back to, to the edge with you
Where we can both fall far in love

I'm on The Edge of Glory,
And I'm hanging on a moment of truth,
I'm on The Edge of Glory,
And I'm hanging on a moment with you,
I'm on the edge
The edge
The edge

The edge
The edge
The edge
The edge

I'm on The Edge of Glory
And I'm hanging on a moment with you
I'm on the edge with you

I'm on the edge with you

I'm on the edge with you

I'm on The Edge of Glory,
And I'm hanging on a moment of truth,
I'm on The Edge of Glory,
And I'm hanging on a moment with you,
I'm on the edge
The edge
The edge
The edge
The edge
The edge
The edge

I'm on The Edge of Glory
And I'm hanging on a moment with you
I'm on the edge with you
With you
With you
With you
With you

I'm on the edge with you
With you
With you
With you
With you

I'm on the edge with you
With you
With you
With you
With you

I'm on the edge with you
With you

GaGa reveals more “Born This Way” track Details!

Lady GaGa has revealed some new details to NME magazine about several tracks on her upcoming album “Born This Way”. She also confirmed a new track title from the album called ‘Road To Love’.

Government Hooker

Gregorian pop chants, pervy robot voices (courtesy of GaGa’s bodyguard, Pete), window-rattling beats, and the extraordinary line “Put your hands on me, JF Kennedy”. GaGa: The humour is that a machine in tells me what to do and I happily do it as long as I get fucked. It relates to how our government fuck us over, but it makes fun of the plastic popstar – I’ll do anything as long as you fuck me and pay me

Road To Love

With a soaring melody, nods to Springsteen and an industrial techno production represent the blueprint for ‘Born This Way’. A unicorn is mentioned. The sax in this and in ‘Hair’ and in ‘Edge Of Glory’ – is not just there for no reason. I grew up listening to much Springsteen and Billy Joel, so in a way, it represents my innocence.

Bloody Mary

A dark, pulsing and atmospheric, almost funeral electroballad, one of several tracks including ‘Judas’ with religious references. I believe that Mary Magdalene was both fully divine and fully human. She has to be strong when Jesus fulfills the prophecy to die for everyone’s sins, but she still has the moment of humanity where she’s upset to let him go. She had to be a superstar, but she must have cried too.

Marry The Night

Peak-era Whitney Houston-esque pop euphoria up top, with churning techno grinding underneath. “This is about me going back to New York. I wrote this about the courage it took for me to say ‘I hate Hollywood, I just wanna live in Brooklyn and make music’”

Americano

Told as a love story between Gaga and a girl from L.A., this is an acid house-fuelled Mexican-themed footstomper. “This was my first proper collaboration with Fernando Garibay and White Shadow. Labels had been telling Fernando to tone down his mexican influences, but here, we really brought them out. It was when Prop 8 was overturned in California. The immigration law was passed in Arizona, houses were being raided for immigrants, some of whom had been here for 20 years. America was once the land of the free, and now we’re telling everyone to get the fuck out”

Lady GaGa also spoke about the use of the Saxophone in her songs ‘Hair’ and ‘Edge of Glory’

The sax in this and in ‘Hair’ and in ‘Edge Of Glory’ – is not just there for no reason. I grew up listening to much Springsteen and Billy Joel, so in a way, it represents my innocence

Lady GaGa Will Direct 'Judas' Video With Laurieann Gibson & Talks About Edege Of Glory

As promised, Lady Gaga joined forces with Google on Tuesday to answer a string of fan-generated questions for an hour-long interview posted onYouTube called "Musicians@Google Presents: Google Goes Gaga."

While the pop star dished on a range of topics, including her upcoming album, Born This Way, and aspiring-singers-turned-viral-YouTube stars (yes, she mentioned Rebecca Black), the most exciting news she shared with her fans was that she'll be directing the video for her next single, "Judas," alongside creative director Laurieann Gibson.

"I'm very excited. Actually, I can exclusively reveal here at Google that I will be making my directorial debut with Laurieann Gibson, directing this video with her ourselves," the singer said to the cheers of the interview's live audience.

Keeping in line with the song's title, Mother Monster also admitted that the clip will include religious imagery. "It's no surprise, I'm sure, to many of you, that Judas is a man of the biblical senses, so expect to see some symbolism in this video," she said.

Gaga also gave fans a taste of the club track's lyrics by offering a few lines from the song. "When he comes to me, I am ready/ I'll wash his feet with my hair if he needs/ Forgive him when his tongue lies through his brain/ Even after three times, he betrays me/ I'll bring him down, a king with no crown," she recited.

Gaga explained that "Judas," which she produced along with RedOne, talks about confronting one's demons. "You have to look into what is haunting you and you need to look into forgiving yourself in order to move on," she said. "And it's really fun to dance to and sounds like it could be a pop priest record."

She also described a track off her "avant-garde techno rock" LP called "Edge of Glory." Recalling the loss of her grandfather last year, Gaga revealed that she wrote the tune at an emotional moment at the piano while taking tequila shots with her father. "The song's about your last moment on Earth, the moment of truth. The edge of glory is that moment right before you leave the Earth," she said.

Lady GaGa Gives Rolling Stone a Sneak Peak on 6 Born This Way Songs!

“Judas” – Currently scheduled as the second single from the album, “Judas” is a classic Lady Gaga pop banger with three huge hooks, a thumping house music breakdown and a vocal part that borrows a bit of Rihanna’s distinctive cadence. Gaga has written about falling for the wrong guy before in “LoveGame” and “Bad Romance,” but this time around she’s a bit less dark and dramatic. There’s a bubbly sweetness in her voice as she sings “I’m just a horny fool / baby it’s so cool / I’m still in love with Judas, baby.”

“Edge of Glory” – This one sounds crazy in print — it’s a massive power ballad with heavy club beats that features Clarence Clemons of the E Street Band wailing on his saxophone — but somehow it all seems totally natural when you actually hear it. There’s an element of cheesiness to it, but it’s totally captivating and incredibly catchy. If any of these new Gaga tunes demands to be a big fat hit, this is it. The inclusion of Clemons is an inspired touch that amplifies the song’s Eighties stadium rock vibe, but his actual performance is amazing and ranks among the best of his career.

“Scheiße” – A remixed version of this number was used in a recent runway show by fashion designer Thierry Mugler. The album version doesn’t have the same hardcore European house flavor, but it’s definitely the tune most likely to bring back memories of early-Nineties dance crossover hits by C&C Music Factory, Snap and RuPaul. The opening of the song — in which she flatly intones “I don’t speak German, but I can if you like” — is fierce, but the song is saved from being a slight novelty by a soaring chorus that vaguely recalls Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger.”

“Hair” – “Hair” is another inspirational song in the mold of “Born This Way,” but it’s a bit weirder, mixing the yearning romantic melodrama of Pat Benetar’s “We Belong” with the hard industrial metal edge of Broken-era Nine Inch Nails. The lyrics are essentially about embracing one’s hairstyle as the ultimate expression of their identity, climaxing with Gaga triumphantly declaring “I am my hair!” in its huge sing along chorus. An anthem for hair salons everywhere.

“You and I” – Gaga didn’t share the studio version of this theatrical rock ballad, but she did perform it in her concert later in the evening. This one has been part of her Monster Ball setlist for months now, and at this point it’s already a crowd-pleasing showstopper. Assuming that the album recording will have more or less the same piano-centric arrangement, “You and I” will provide a necessary break from the high energy beats on the other tracks. Watch her performance of the song from The Today Show back in July below.

“Born This Way” - This is the Number One single in the country, so you’ve probably heard this one by now. This was the first time Gaga has played the song in concert, but it’s already the ideal conclusion to her show, ending the night with a giddy communal celebration of personal empowerment and self-acceptance. Watch footage of the performance below.
