Billboard Update

Lady Gaga spends her fifth consecutive week at #1 with Born This Way with Cee Lo Green's F**k You trailing behind her once again. Looking to lodge her fourth consecutive #1 track from Teenage Dream is Katy Perry with E.T. rising to #3 thanks to strong digital sales, while Rihanna slips a spot to #4 with S&M but gets the Airplay Gainer Title. Staying strong at #5 is Jennifer Lopez with On The Floor while Britney Spears leaps to #9 on the Hot 100 with her latest single Till The World Ends. Unfortunately, Ke$ha's Blow has fallen right to the rim of the Hot 100, falling to #10 this week. Moving up to #18 this week is Avril Lavigne's What The Hell, trailed behind by Christina Perri's breakout hit Jar of Hearts at #19. Glee's invasion on the Hot 100 is led by Landslide, debuting at #23 with Do You Wanna Touch Me, Animaland Kiss following suit at #57, #62 and #83. Jessie J shoots up with Price Tag peaking at #58 this week. Bruno Mars' The Lazy Song rises to #72 this week, making a brand peak. Jennifer Hudson's Where You At finally makes its chart impact, debuting at #96. Album track Wish You Were Here from Avril Lavigne's new album Goodbye Lullaby debuts at #99.

Over on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart, Lupe Fiasco's new album Lasers ends Adele's chart reign as Lasers debuts at #1, pushing Adele's 21 into second place. Glee's new Volume 5 soundtrack debuts at #3 while Avril Lavigne's Goodbye Lullaby arrives at #4, making it her lowest-selling album so far in terms of first week sales. Bummer. With little to no promotion, Ellie Goulding's Lights was quietly released to the States, debuting at #129. Even I didn't know the release was so soon. Rubbish promotion. Sara Bareilles chart-topping album Kaleidoscope Heart re-enters at #192.

Billboard Update

In its third week, Rihanna's What's My Name? has shot straight to the top of the Hot 100 and gets the Airplay Gainer title. Not bad, methinks. Her previous single Only Girl (In The World) stays strong at #4, pushing last week's #1 Ke$ha with We R Who We R, down to #5. P!nk's Raise Your Glass moves up to #7 this week after its video premiered last week. Katy Perry collects her third Top 10 from sophomore pop album Teenage Dream with Firework, nudging its way into the Top 10, getting the Digital Gainer title. Taylor Swift's Mine barges into the Top 20 again, moving up from #21 to #16 this week. Jumping 9 spots is OneRepublic's Secrets, which sits a spot away from its peak of #21 and #22 this week. Sara Bareilles' King of Anything continues to impact strongly, moving up a spot to #35 this week. Ke$ha's promo track Sleazy debuts at #51 on the Hot 100. Carrie Underwood's latest single Mama's Song leaps to a new peak of #66. Christina Perri's Jar of Hearts continues to make an impact on the charts, as it moves up to #76 after its reappearance at #96 last week on the Hot 100.

Taylor Swift's Speak Now continues to reign on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart, leaving country superstar Jason Aldean to settle for #2 with his latest release My Kinda Party. Mariah Carey debuts at #4 with Merry Christmas II You, shifting 55, 000 copies in its first week of release. Katy Perry's sophomore pop album Teenage Dream moves up 5 spots to #13 this week. Shakira's latest album Sale El Sol falls to #40 in its third week. Carrie Underwood's Play On has moved up to #46 from #52. Rihanna's album Rated R released last year has re-entered the charts at #186, mostly due to the success of Only Girl (In The World) and What's My Name?. Imagine the horror when they realise this is bitter Rihanna at work and not the happy, colourful Rihanna she is now.. LOL.

Sara Bareilles - King of Anything lie @ Ellen DeGeneres Show

Pop/AC singer Sara Bareilles has done pretty well for herself so far. Her sophomore album Kaleidoscope Heart managed to top the Billboard Albums Chart while it's lead single King of Anything looks like it's going to stay around on the charts for quite a while - as with many AC singles. Nevertheless, Bareilles went on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to perform King of Anything. While it's not groundbreaking, it's clear Bareilles isn't all studio effects. Check it out above!

Billboard Update

Bruno Mars continues his Hot 100 domination with Just The Way You Are leading the pack at #1. Eminem and Rihanna's Love The Way You Lie has slipped however, falling to #3 while Katy Perry's Teenage Dream moves up to #2 after briefly falling out of the Top 3 at #4 last week. Rihanna's new single Only Girl (In The World) falls 5 spots to #8 this week after leaping up to #3 last week. I remember this happening to Taylor Swift's Mine after it made a glittering debut at #3, it kind of went downhill from then on. This week, Mine sits outside the Top 10 at #11 this week while Ke$ha's Take It Off falls a spot to #12 this week. The Glee Cast have invaded the Hot 100 once again after the first episode of Season 2 premiered last week and Empire State of Mind has made a debut at #21, Telephone at #23, Billionaire at #28, Listen at #38 and What I Did For Love at #51. OneRepublic has managed to reach yet a new peak with their latest single Secrets which is definitely a slow burner. Adam Lambert's latest single If I Had You has lost some steam, dropping to #31 this week after entering Top 30 territory last week at #30. Entering Top 40 ground this week is Daughtry, whose latest single has reached a new peak of #40 this week while it continues to climb. Miley Cyrus' third studio release Can't Be Tamed falls to #126 this week.

Billboard Update

Pop superstar Katy Perry continues to top the Hot 100 at #1 for a second consecutive week. Ke$ha's latest single Take It Off sticks at #8 for a second week in a row. Inching its way up on the Hot 100 is OneRepublic's latest offering Secrets and Adam Lambert's latest dance/pop single If I Had You sitting at new peaks of #26 and #31 respectively. It's the release week of Sara Bareilles' sophomore album Kaleidoscope Heart which means it has propelled the lead single King of Anything to #32, a new peak for the single. Selena Gomez & The Scene's latest single A Year Without Rain makes a debut at #35. Michael Buble's latest single Hollywood makes a debut at #55 while Daughtry's latest single September hits a new peak of #57. Rihanna's latest single Only Girl (In The World) makes a debut at #75 on airplay alone, a singles artist she truly is. Spurred by the success of A Year Without Rain, Selena Gomez & The Scene's lead single Round And Round moves up from #82 to #77.

Singer songwriter Sara Bareilles dominates the Billboard 200 albums chart this week with Kaleidoscope Heart storming in at #1 with over 90, 000 copies sold in its first week. Katy Perry's Teenage Dream holds on to its position at #4 while Fantasia's Back To Me sits outside the Top 10 at #11. Looks like Sara Bareilles both starts and ends the chart as her debut album Little Voice re-enters at #200.

Thursday, September 9, 2010

Billboard Update

Pop megastar Katy Perry's Teenage Dream has finally dethroned Eminem's single Love The Way You Lie which features Rihanna, slipping to #2 this week while Katy Perry takes over the Hot 100 at #1. Taylor Swift's Mine is on an upward climb this week, moving up to #7 from #9 last week. Also moving up is Ke$ha with her latest single Take It Off. OneRepublic is also on the move up with latest single Secrets entering Top 30 territory, hitting a new peak of #29 this week. Sara Bareilles' brilliant lead single King of Anything from sophomore set Kaleidescope Heart is back at it's peak on the Hot 100 of #51, which is bound to go up during the album release week, which is this week. Daughtry's fantastic new single September hits a new peak of #66 this week. After bouncing back up on her feet, Fantasia's single Bittersweet just kept climbing. However, Bittersweet has lost a little steam, falling to 81 this week after reaching a peak of #81.

Disturbed's Asylum makes a debut at #1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart while previous chart topper Katy Perry has slipped to #2 with Teenage Dream while Fantasia's Back To Me, last week's #2, has dropped to #5. After the movie release, the Camp Rock 2 Soundtrack has rebounded up the chart to #9 up from #22 last week. Carrie Underwood also rebounds up to #42 this week, flying up 20 spots up from #62 last week. In anticipation of her Glee premiere, Charice's self-titled international debut album has re-entered the chart at #160 this week.

Billboard Update

The release week of Katy Perry's sophomore album Teenage Dream bumped up single sales for her current single, the title track and California Gurls, which helped push both tracks up a spot to reach #2 and #7 on the Hot 100 this week. Teenage Dream has reached a new peak by the way, standing at #2 while album track Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) debuts down the chart at #67. However, the might of Katy Perry just cannot get a hold on Eminem and Rihanna, who have been ruling the charts for so long with Love The Way You Lie holding up at #1 again. However, I don't expect this to last for too long. After slipping off the Top 10 last week, Taylor Swift's Mine has returned to the Top 10, moving up to #9 this week while Ke$ha's latest single Take It Off rounds out the Top 10 and reaches a new peak of #10 this week on the Hot 100. Adam Lambert's latest single If I Had You stays at its current spot of #32 for a second week. OneRepublic has achieved a new peak for their new single Secrets as it swings into #35 this week. Sara Bareilles' King of Anything remains stuck at #58 this week, just 7 spots away from its peak when it debuted on the chart. Despite her personal life struggles, I truly believe Fantasia has overcome them and Bittersweet has yet moved up again to reach a new peak on the Hot 100 at #74. Daughtry's latest single September from platinum-selling sophomore album Leave This Town has moved up to a new peak as well, hitting #75 this week.

On the Billboard 200 albums chart, Katy Perry's Teenage Dream has hit #1, trailed by a very different artist Fantasia, with her latest set Back To Me. OneRepublic's second album Waking Up makes a move up to #105 this week.

Big News: Sara Bareilles premieres exclusive album track!

Jazz/pop singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles has premiered an exclusive album track called Uncharted to EW to stream on their website. Her upcoming album will be released September 7th and she's already premiered an album track just days ago. That track called Hold My Heart was a middle-of-the-road pop ballad but Sara has brought back to what we know her best for, producing dance-y jazzy stuff, so Uncharted is more Love Song or King of Anything than Gravity. Uncharted isn't an obvious hit, but it's a grower. Enjoy!

Sara Bareilles new track: Hold My Heart

Singer/songwriter Sara Bareilles is just a couple weeks to releasing her brand new album Kaleidoscope Heart which hits stores September 7th. Today, Bareilles premiered a brand new song called Hold My Heart which will be on the album. It's a pretty ballad but honestly, there's nothing amazing about it, because her best ballad will always be Gravity. Nevertheless, Kaleidoscope Heart will have different sides to it, I assume. I'm looking forward to hearing the album but for now, here's Hold My Heart. Enjoy!
