'This is the first time ever CD featuring the voices of apes, monkeys & lemurs. These mammals, at the pinnacle of evolution, are closely related to man. The listener of this CD will discover the songs of pairs of Gibbons and of families of Siamangs: certain zoologists see in them a primitive form of “music” in the human sense of the term. This volume includes examples of the calls of monkeys and apes from Asia, Africa, Madagascar, and south and central America, as well as that of Lemurs, put together here for their aesthetic, even “musical” quality.' ~ Jean C. Roché & Patrick Frémeaux

way out 'ambiances' from our primate relatives as lovingly captured by Jean-Claude Roché & his capable crew. 320 rips

B6. Asfalto - No Se Que Pensar
B7. Jarabe De Menta - Con El Sol En El Bolsillo
B8. Little Green Men - Para Ti Lilian [For You Lilian]

'An exciting and eclectic collection of wild garage and psychedelia from Argentina and the so-called Rioplatense scene. Consisting on mostly original tracks from 1969 to the early 70s, all taken from very obscure 45s (some of them with only less than a handful existing known copies) that have been lost for decades, and never reissued until now. This is the first compilation entirely dedicated to the little-known underground Argentinean movement, even more for that specific region.

Infectious Hammond organs, lots of distorted fuzz guitars, raw-throated vocals.Includes the wildest "Heya" cover version ever by Bosques, over the top heavy psych by Gipsys and Dynamita, hard-psych-funk by Caballo Vapor, exotic Rubble styled psych by Kon-Tiki, Music Machine styled organ-garage by Brujos, bizarre freakbeat-fuzz by Wooky Toky, trashy psych-rock by Them, killer garage-beat by Asfalto, Jarabe de Menta and Los Fantasmas and more! A strongly recommended release for collectors and anyone else searching for new hyper-sounds for their dancing parties!

Features carefully remastered sound and includes a superb 4 page insert in English with detailed liner notes on each band and rare pictures. Comes in a gorgeous full colour cover printed in high quality, reverse printed carton.'

'Chile's Embrujo sole album was originally released in 1971 on the Arena label & it's a very rare & collectible item changing hands for respectable amounts of ca$h. This can be considered as one of the real South American masterpieces when it comes to psychedelic music, but you will also notice the folk influence in many tracks, with the use of flute, acoustic guitars, piano and beautiful soft melodies. Previous to this fantastic album, the same guys had released another amazing album under the name of Kissing Spell, in 1970.' ~ shadoks

from the ashes of Kissing Spell come, simply, Spell. we've spent a lot of hours with both albums & they're wicked fantastique, but not in a pummeling way. more like honey drippin mellow gold with most everything taking a backseat to the killer harmonies. el slightly superior Kissing Spell joint forthkommen if it aint on a scrillion other bloggies owlready. 320 agradecimientos para el uploader original

Percussion ~ Miguel "Chino" Rossi
Saxophone [Soprano], Clarinet ~ Hugo Pierre

Originally released in 1972
Recorded at ION studios, Buenos Aires

'This blast from the past, a 1972 classic from Argentinean bassist, Jorge López Ruiz, is hard, if not impossible to beat with its lush, 70's jazz harmonies intercepting something like an electric Miles Davis set in Buenos Aires. Though the psychedelic quality is undoubtedly present, there is an incredible richness, a remarkable dialogue between Ruiz and his quartet which lifts this disc way above its competitors, whether they be dated from the 1970's or today. All these colors and textures which wind and weave within dreamy layers of guitar, keyboards, bass, and drums are penetrated only (and artistically) by the outspoken if not entrancing cry of the sax. Bliss surely awaits you with 'De Prepo'. This is not to be missed.' ~ further

Banda los Hijos de la Niña Luz ~ Dejale Corre/ El Sapo/ Crees Que Soy Sexy 7" [Soundway, 2008]

A ~ Dejala Corre
  • Written-By - L. Meza*
B ~ El Sapo / Crees Que Soy Sexy
  • Written-By - C. Appice* , Lambrano* , R. Stewart*

Colombian multi-instrumentalist & world champion of accordian, Lisandro Meza has been a key figure of Colombian popular music since 1961, first as a member of supergroup Los Corraleros de Majagual, and then in Banda Los Hijos de la Niña Luz -- the late-'70s band composed of his children & his wife. They played their own style of brass band street music that has its roots in the carnival tradition of Colombia. 'Dejala Corre' from 1980 is a huge favorite along the Caribbean coast of Colombia and in the interior, too. The flip side features an edit of the final segment of a long medley from a 1980 Los Hijos LP on legendary Colombian label Discos Fuentes. The two pieces featured are 'El Sapo' which runs into a unique big band version of Rod Stewart's "Do You Think I'm Sexy (Crees Que Soy Sexy)." This is a tropical dancefloor double-sided bomb and strictly limited to 1000 copies. The record comes in a unique bespoke black printed sleeve on textured high quality manilla card.
