Battle of Gaugamela

The battle of Gaugamela was the major battle in wars between King of Macedon Alexsander the Great and King of Persia Darius III.The battle of Gaugamela took place 1 October 331 before Jezus Christ was born.When Alexsander hear about new army which was formed near Euphrates and Tigris river he moved out from Egypt to ground of conteporary Iran.In September 331BC macedonia army which had 9000 peltasts(light infantry),31000 heavy infantry and 7000 cavalry stand against to army King of Persia Darius III which had 30000 peltasts,40000 cavalry, 10000 persian immortals,10000 greek hoplites and 15 war elephants.Alexsander again employed tactic from battle of leuctra.Macedon army subvide on two wing:left wing command by Alexsander was forge ahead than right wing command by Parmenion.All of macedon army was set slanty against to persian army.When the army of Alexsander attacked left wing of Persia army,Parmenion's wing started retread and in this moment all of right wing went between Alexsander and Parmenion because Alexsander refused all left wing and he attacked right wing of army Darius III from back.It was the great battle for Alexsander the Great and Parmenion because they destroyed almost 40000 soldiers,from macedonia army lieghst dead on the battlefield 4000 soldiers.After this battle all Kingdom of Persia was covered by army of Alexsander the Great.
