New Northland Soccer Club Offers Camp, Team Tryouts
The Northland is home to a new premier youth soccer club, KC Milan Futbol Club. The club strives to develop youth soccer players through proper tactical and technical training in a positive and fun environment, emphasizing team play while encouraging players to develop their own individual styles. From June 7-10, a KC Milan Premier Soccer Camp will allow players to improve their skills, work hard, and make new friends while having fun. Campers will receive:
  • 4 Days of Professional Instruction

Ballet North Spring Festival of Dance & Dance Camp Information
Tickets for Ballet North’s Spring Festival of Dance 2010, featuring “Alice in Wonderland”, “Carmen” and “Watermark”, are now on sale! Performances will be held June 11-12 beginning at 7:30 p.m. each evening at the Liberty Performing Arts Theatre. Call (816) 439-4362 to purchase tickets and reserve seating.

Also, Ballet North has revamped their dance camp for this summer with new scheduling and recession-buster pricing, which reduced the normal dance camp rate by 30%. Dance Camp 2010 features daily ballet class, art/creativity projects, pantomime, ballet history, and body mechanics - a great educational experience that is a fun way to dance away the summer!

Gladstone Hosts Kids Triathlon
The Gladstone Community Center will host a Kids Triathlon Saturday, July 10, at the community center. Kids ages 6-14 are eligible to participate in the race that starts at 9 a.m. Swim, bike, and run for fun! For more information, contact the community center at (816) 423-4200.


Missouri Wolverines Football & Cheerleading Sign-ups
Are you ready to play some football? The NSYFL Missouri Wolverines are having sign-ups for their 2010 youth football program on Saturday, July 31, and Sunday, August 1, at Pleasant Valley Park from 12-3 p.m. both days. The club provides tackle football for the following grades 7th–8th, 5th–6th, 3rd–4th, and flag football for K-2nd grades. The Missouri Wolverines organization has sent at least one level to the NSYFL Super Bowl the last four years. It takes speed, stamina, skill and heart to play football – are you ready? Cheerleading
Does your child love to cheer? The NSYFL Missouri Wolverines Cheer program is having sign-ups for their 2010 cheer squads on Saturday, July 31, and Sunday, August 1, at Pleasant Valley Park from 12-3 p.m. both days. We provide cheer for grades K-8. Each squad will focus on dance, tumbling, jumps, motions, stunting and sportsmanship. Squads cheer at several football games and participate in a competition at the end of the season. Participating in these activities builds confidence and teamwork without the pressure and cost of multiple practices and competitions. Come be a part of an amazing experience – Missouri Wolverine Cheerleading! Are you an experienced cheerleader over 18 years of age? We also are looking for coaches. KC Eagles 2010 Summer Volleyball Camp
The KC Eagles Volleyball Club is hosting a four-day camp for girls 10-16 years old July 26-29, at LEVO Gym (700 N.W. Argosy Parkway) from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day. Camp tuition is $135 and includes a camp T-shirt. The camp is designed to improve the overall volleyball skills of each player while also teaching new skills that will help individuals gain a better understanding of the game and specific positions. Basketball Camp for 3rd–12th Graders
Sports broadcaster, Brenda VanLengen, will join with WNBA 1st Round Draft Pick , former KU Jayhawk and Olathe East High School grad, Danielle McCray, to provide fundamental basketball camps for students in grades 3–12 this summer.

Participants in the camp receive a basketball, T-shirt, access to a personalized Web site to track skills and drills in the months following the camp, and the opportunity to learn basketball from one of the all-time best in women’s basketball, Danielle McCray.
