"Old valley of Odra"

At Stolczyn is deep valley, where Odra run long time ago. In that time, on two borders of river large farmhouse stood. Ground was rich, river was giving fishes, so people lifed affluent. Sometimes near border some boat moored, people could to trade and they could to know something about world.

Some summer, after specially long and hard winter, water lifted in Odra. So high and powerful wave stood up, that it was destroying all past way. It was having with its trees, remains farms and boats. It was enourmous unhappiness. People were helpless, they was looking impotent power of disaster.

In place, where old bed of Odra join with present, in poor house lived age, pious monk. Stormy water fastly run to this wild. River was becoming more dangerous, because wind broke, rain was pouring from sky. It was thinking, that for hermitage of monk is none help, that given moment high wall of water got all. Old monk fell on knees and he fervent pray to Got about help. And Got listened to request devout monk and high water run around hermitage - it did its new road. From this time it run new bed, in old valley was ending more and more, in the end valley dryed out absolutely.
