From 16th to 18th May 2008 in Olsztyn the 6th Hubert Wagner's memory tournament took place. This year four teams were playing there: Poland, Hungary, Estonia and Montenegro. In the first day we played with Montenegro and we won with score 3:0. There was the same in the next two matches. It wasn't a surprise that we won the whole tournament, because those teams are worse than Polish team for a "volleyball class". Anyway, this competition was a qualification for next year European Championships in Turkey simltaneously. Thanks to this winning we've already qualificated to this important tournament.
Our team was playing really good, even though 3 basic players didn't play that time. All of them (Paweł Zagumny, Łukasz Kadziewicz i Michał Winiarski) had major injuries. This thing wasn't a difficulty for our team.
This tournament was a representation's debute for young Polish player - Piotr Nowakowski. He's only 20 and he has been doing very well. Other players played good too. The only thing which didn't work as good as it should have was that Świderski didn't play great in his position and because of it Woicki had to "chase" the ball sometimes. The player who was absolutely amazing (as always;) was Daniel Pliński. He played great in the attack, serve and block. There were a lot of situations where he showed his incredible technique, whicz he mostly took from beach volleyball.
Next week our team is going to play in Portugaly. There, they have to win the Olympics qualifications. I'm sure they'll do it and now I can't wait for Pekin. ;)
