John Ronald Reuel Tolkien, also known as J.R.R. Tolkien was born 4th January in Bloemfontein in Orange Free State (now RPA). English writer and philologist. As an author of novel 'The Lord of the Rings', where action take place in the mythical world of Middle-earth, he became one of precursors of present fantasy literature. He's an author of three novels that takes place inmythic world: story 'The Hobbit', trilogy 'The Lord of the Rings', mythology 'Silmarillion', and other short forms that are not connected, or less connected with big mythology of Middle-earth, tight in 12 volumes 'History of Middle-earth', worked out and published by Christopher Tolkien, his son. He died 5th september in Bournemouth in England.
